      Overview:  The ranger is front-line staff assigned to maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring lake property while also informing guests of and enforcing lake policies and procedures with a focus on excellent customer service and hospitality

      Essential Functions

      1. Perform routine patrols of lake property, enforcing and collecting lake fees when necessary
      2. Direct appropriate guests, staff, vendors, or other visitors to proper location, as well as answering any potential guest or customer questions as needed
      3. Evict trespassers from lake property, communicating with management and/or appropriate authorities as necessary
      4. Serve the needs of our guests and staff in a spirit of excellent customer service

      Additional Functions

      1. Inspect potential issues or suspicious behaviors or happenings as notified by guests or staff
      2. Monitor surveillance cameras
      3. Provide detailed reports of activities and incidents to management
      4. Maintain a clean work environment, including but not limited to emptying trash, litter patrols, lake trail cleanup, cleaning bathrooms, etc.
      5. Other duties as assigned

      2. Ability to assess potential dangers and react quickly with good judgement
      3. Knowledge of and ability to follow all lake protocols, procedures, policies, and other pertinent information
      4. Good communication skills, written and verbal, attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to work alone and with others
      5. Familiar with handheld technology and applications
      6. Ability to count and handle cash


      1.         High school diploma or equivalent required
      2.         At least 1 year of customer service experience required
      3.         At least 1 year of security experience preferred
      4.         Valid Driver’s License, First Aid/CPR required
      5.         Must be able to work weekends, overnights, and/or holidays as needed
      6.         Agreement and compliance with Lake Gregory employee handbook

      Physical Demands

      1. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
      2. Ability to walk five miles per day
      3. Ability to work in inclement weather
      4. Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job
